    Art of wine art

“In the Vineyard,” oil on canvas by Scott Mattson, is the commissioned artwork for the Walton Arts Center’s sixth annual Art of Wine Festival, which will take place June 8-10.

This is the second year WAC has selected a local artist’s work to be the festival’s featured piece of art, which is used to promote the festival and sold in the event’s silent auction.

The painting is on display in WAC’s Cynthia H. Coughlin Gallery.

Proceeds from the event and silent auction benefit WAC’s education and general programming. Mattson, a graphic designer at DOXA, has an associate’s degree from Garland Community College, where he took his first art classes, and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Arkansas State University.

His works are also on display through April at the Fayetteville Town Center.
