    Showcasing the work of current New Design School students and instructors

    All proceeds benefit scholarships. Student work is juried by a group of professionals and by attendees of the gala.

    Featured artist Golsa Yaghoobi Rahmatabadi art work for sale

    Live music by DJ Soulfree and DJ Shortfuze

    Ready-to-hang limited edition commemorative posters by local designers for silent auction

    Hand-made t-shirt designs and small gifts by Art Amiss artists for sale with a portion of the proceeds to benefit scholarships

    Performance and interactive art surprise

    Suggested minimum donation of $10 for the general public and $5 for students.

    Any prospective students who are interested in attending New Design School may choose to enter free.

  • How did he do that?
    Greg Moore shares his process and teaches you how he did it!

    This is the first makeshop is a new series featuring a local designer showing how he created the unique style seen in the 2006 Fayetteville Arts Festival Poster and most recently in a background for his band’s web page. He sews and tears paper, splatters and brings it all together with a scanner and Adobe Photoshop.

    This new series offers the opportunity to feature local designers’ contributions to our community. This could include lectures to show and discuss their work and makeshops to share techniques. Our first featured designer is Greg Moore.

    What do employers look for in a graphic designer?

    What does the ideal portfolio look and feel like?

    Designers will answer questions about jobs, portfolios and what skills can best prepare you for the career. Then you can ask questions to the panelists or to the interviewer, Sonia Davis Gutiérrez, founder, about New Design School seminars, instructors and materials needed for enrollment.

    Guests include Jeannie Ozlanski, graphic designer with Tyson, Eric Huber also a graphic designer with Tyson and Justin Williams of Pixelbenders.
