The Fayetteville Public Library will host the second annual Ozark Writers Live! 

Saturday, September 13, 9 to 5 pm.

Ozark Writers Live! is the library’s premier literary event and is a unique opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best writers in the region.

Author readings, hands-on workshops and group discussions of fiction and non-fiction work will occur in concurrent sessions throughout the day.

Authors slated to attend include Donald Harington, Dusty Richards, Tony Wappel and Ethel Simpson, Robert Cochran, Radine Trees Nehring, Pat Carr, Andrea Hollander Budy, Arkansas Poet Laureate Peggy Vining and many others.

The library will also host an exhibit of historic Fayetteville photographs, courtesy of Bob’s Studio of Photography, during Ozark Writers Live!

This event is free and open to the public.

There are currently 3 positions open and there has only been one applicant.

Applications are due tomorrow at 5 pm.

Applicants can either email them to the City Clerk’s office or hand deliver them.

Thanks to all of you who participating and supported the Fayetteville Arts Festival! It was a great success, and lots of fun.  We’ll spend the next weeks compiling survey responses, and making our reports.  We’ll want to hear from you in October, so please mark your calendars for this Festival Followup Meeting: October 10th, at Kathy Thompson’s studio at 5:30pm. Further details will be announced closer to that meeting date.

Tonight’s CADI meeting has been cancelled due to City Council meetings surrounding the Fayetteville Downtown Master Plan.

The date for the Cultural Arts District to be a Planning Commission item has been moved back to later in the summer. We will keep you posted on the developments.

Reminder: The application deadline for visual artists wanting to participate in the Fayetteville Arts Festival is May 12. The application is available online at www.fayettevillearts.org.

The remainder of the CADI meetings will be posted on the calendar in the next couple of days. Unless otherwise noted, meetings always take place on the second Tuesday of the month. However, future meetings will start at 5:30 pm.
