Author Ellen Jackson, was so taken with the excitement of March, she wrote a book; It Happens in the Month of March. Poor Richard’s Art, 116 S. First St. in historic downtown Rogers, is equally excited about the happenings in March, and invites you to share in the celebration of Beth Woessner and Jerry Faulkner as Artists of the Month.

Beth has been on the journey of creativity since her first box of crayons as a child. Since 2006 she has begun marketing her dazzling water colors. She enjoys the spontaneity of the medium, and the surprises that present themselves throughout the painting process. Each creation gives her the opportunity to pause and immerse herself in the details that surrounds her in life. Through her interpretation of nature Beth’s paintings bring colors the eye cannot see. Ranging from a shoreline splash of the sea, to a snowy hike in the woods, everyone may find a piece that catches their eye and their heart. In addition to these creations, Beth specializes in commissioned pieces of local homes.

Potter Jerry Faulkner, brought her art to historic Rhea’s Mill after living many years in Houston, TX. While in Houston, Jerry owned several pottery shops. Her move to northwest Arkansas allowed her to renovate an old barn, and create a teaching studio.
The return to a more country like setting has expanded Jerry’s skills as a potter. “I feel my pottery has greatly improved. Something about being close to the land, lends itself to pottery”. Jerry focuses on form and function in her pottery, with the more traditional wheel thrown stoneware. She can also be seen doing more organic pieces that are hand formed and decorative. In addition to making pottery, Jerry has a love of sharing her craft through teaching. Several of her best friends started out as pottery students.
Jerry will be on hand at Poor Richard’s Art on March 24 and 31 from 9:30 to 5:00, showing off her lovely designs and answering questions.

Poor Richard’s Art is a cooperative art gallery dedicated to nurture and present innovative art of uncommon quality in all types of media by regional artists, while preserving the Old Applegate Drug Store building. Hours are 9:30 to 5:00 Monday through Saturday.
