Northwest Arkansas FACES, Compiled by Brandi Guthrie

The Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts has announced a new exhibition opportunity for Arkansas women artists. The program, Women to Watch, is a biennial exhibition developed specially for NMWA’s national and international committees. Every two years, an exhibition is held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington. It features underrepresented and emerging women artists from the states and countries in which the museum has committees. The theme for “Women to Watch 2010” is contemporary, figurative painting in acrylic, oil, tempera or watercolor.

Depending on the medium and size of the artwork, eight to 12 artists will be represented from all national and international committees who submit artists. Normally, each artist will be featured with one work.

For details about this exhibition opportunity, including a submission form and guidelines, contact Joey Halinski at dmhalinski@pol. net or 403 Long Leaf Cove, Vicksburg, MS 39180. Deadline for the Arkansas Committee to receive all materials is March 5.
