Julie Wait Designs Art Gallery features photography by Helen Thomas, January 2nd through February 27th.

An artist reception will be held Friday January 9th, 5-8p.m.

The gallery is located at 318 South First in Rogers, Ar and is open from 9a.m. until 5p.m. Monday – Friday and Saturday by appointment. 479-631-8706

“Photography is a perpetual passion. One that I have pursued for over a dozen years. You visualize all things in either color, black and white, or infrared. You find yourself squinting, cropping with your fingers held up in front of your eyes, and looking at your watch trying to figure out when you can come back with your camera. After a myriad of instructors and numerous years of studying light and shadow I realized the “answer” is whatever you choose it to be. That is what make the ART of photography so intriguing. Remembering the wrinkles in stranger’s faces, seeing infinite shades of green in diverse landscapes, being ready when the sun rises , and watching the brief golden light near dusk with awe every time.
Those are the parts of the image puzzle. The prize is simple. A memory of when, where and how you created an image.”
“Most of my work is digital now. However, I never feel finished. The natural light is beckoning and the digital darkroom with it’s countless tools makes for endless options. Imagination. That is the fun.”
