The Fulbright College department of music will feature guest pianist, Vitaly Margulis in concert on Thursday evening, Nov. 13 at 8:00 p.m. in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.  He will be performing pieces by Tchaikovsky, Glazunov, Schumann, Grieg, Scriabin, Debussy, and Chopin.  Born in the Ukranian city of Charkov, Vitaly Margulis is a pianist, pedagogue, and author of music philosophy studies.  He has performed concerts worldwide and recorded many very well received CDs.  In his teaching, Professor Margulis prioritizes the study of the works of Bach and Beethoven.  His students have won more than a hundred prizes at international competitions over the last decades, twenty-eight of which were grand prizes.  In 1994, he accepted the post of Professor of Piano at the Univesrity of California in Los Angeles.  In addition, he holds piano master classes in Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Belgium, Portugal, Holland, France, Japan Russia, and America.  Professor Vitaly Margulis is the father of UA Professor of Piano, Jura Margulis.
