Valentine’s Show and Sale
Poor Richard’s Art
February 9th, 10 am to 5 pm
What do acetylene, polymer, glaze, silver, silk, clay, and glass have in common? February 9th is the perfect time to find out, as Poor Richard’s Art hosts it’s “Treasured in Arkansas” Valentine’s show and sale with six of Northwest Arkansas’ premier artisan jewelers.

Dating back to 7000 BC, artisan jewelry is prized for it’s uniqueness, variety and unsurpassed beauty. In celebration of the upcoming Valentine’s Day, Poor Richard’s Art would like to invite you to experience true artisan jewelry with demonstrations and conversations with it’s premier jewelers from 10 am to 5 pm.

Lori Diaz can be seen creating earrings by combining beads, influenced by southwest colors, and her own unique style for office or evening wear. Lori will also be taking names for a class to allow customers a chance to make their own earrings. Sandra Parker will be demonstrating her latest technique of miniature knotting of gemstone necklaces. Mary Stewart will be practicing her metalsmithing skills, while she creates pendants and earrings with influences ranging from architectural forms to mystical shapes.

Also on hand will be Sally Bowen, explaining the raku process by which her pendants achieve their unique colors and designs; Pam Belcher, with her more traditional beaded designs and Sara Lyon who creates necklaces and bracelets from her own handmade beads.

In addition to the demonstrations, there will be drawings for gift certificates and refreshments to enjoy.
Poor Richard’s Art is a cooperative art gallery dedicated to nurture and present innovative art of uncommon quality in all types of media by regional artists while preserving the Old Applegate Drug Store building in historic downtown Rogers.
