MAKING THE COMMUNITY BETTER MAKES US BETTER
Making things better for the community has been our goal and establishing The AMP as a key stitch in the summer social fabric has been our vision – The AMP contributes to a better place to live work and play in NW Arkansas.

THE AMP GOES NON PROFIT -
As we continue our commitment to proving ourselves as a vision for live music from the ground up and gaining support one relationship, one guest, and one show at a time, we have recognized the role that business structure plays as well as our role within the community.

That is why we have restructured as the The AMP Foundation an organization that produces live events and uses their net proceeds to provide grants to local charitable organizations right here in NW Arkansas.

“Our business has grown tremendously in the past 3 years.  However, the arts will always rely on the support from the community – corporate and private – and we want it to be clear what we are trying to accomplish”, says Amy Mack White, VP of Communications for The AMP.

Since 2005, The AMP has already brought 65 events and over 60,000 concertgoers to 35 national recording artists to the region.  The AMP is unique since it is a venue and a promoter of its own shows.  In 2008, The AMP will seek additional ways to strengthen its community development work to create further synergies with the region and make live music even more sustainable.

When we started The AMP it was a big idea that was done in a small, smart way to grow conservatively so that it could thrive in its beginning years.  During this time, AMP owners have always put the community at the forefront of their efforts.  “We promised from day 1 to be collaborative and not competitive and to always be mindful that we are part of the whole region and seeing people benefit whether it be charities, people coming to see their favorite band or getting the summer job of a lifetime has been more than rewarding.”  Says Dan White, Co Creator of The AMP.

$100,000 Donated to One Dozen Charities Since 2005
Contributing to The AMP is more than contributing to just music.  It supports the infrastructure that allows charities like Boys and Girls Club, The Bethany Foundation, Horses For Healing, Komen Race For The Cure, The Salvation Army, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and The Jackson Graves Foundation have an outlet for their message and a place to raise funds for their programs.  Over $50,000 in additional funds has been earned from AMP Events and The AMP has contributed over $100,000 in services and cash to these organizations.  After all, The AMP’s mission is to make things better for the community and music speaks universally.

“We appreciate our corporate sponsors and our guests for what they have contributed – an investment in the things that make Northwest Arkansas a better place to be – not just buildings & offices, but a place to work, live and play.  Northwest Arkansas needs arts and entertainment and cultural experiences to thrive – to attract and retain the best people to work with the best companies.” says Kelly Rourke, co creator of The AMP.

When we started The AMP in 2005, we set out as a group of individuals joined together under a common vision to make things better for the area.  And now the beat goes on.

And with great community support and shared purpose, The AMP Foundation will continue to strengthen the goodness of the Northwest Arkansas.
