Dance Coalition (a Northwest Arkansas non-profit group of choreographers and dancers) will offer world dance classes at the first annual Worldfest celebration of international education, Nov. 12-17, 2007, to be held at the Jones Center in Springdale, 922 E Emma Ave, Springdale, Arkansas 72764.
The free world dance classes will be offered during the days of Worldfest at the Jones Center. The schedule of classes is the following:
Tuesday at 7 p.m. —Ballroom and Street Samba
Wednesday at 7 p.m. —Classical Spanish Dance and Belly Dance
Thursday at 7 p.m. —Ballet
Friday at 8 p.m. — Hip Hop
Saturday at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. —Armenian Folk Dance, African Dance, and Jazz Dance.
Classes are open to all ages and experience levels, and no experience is necessary.
On Saturday, November 17, at 5:00 p.m. Dance Coalition will present a cross-cultural dance exhibition featuring ballroom dance, Classical Spanish dance, Armenian folk dance, African dance, Belly Dance, Samba, and more!.
Worldfest will celebrate international education and exchange. Other events will include photography classes by Bedford Camera and Video, a percussion workshop, a photo contest to be judged by wildlife photographer Tim Ernst, an international food tasting and an international fashion show.
Worldfest is part of a nationwide program, International Education Week, designated annually by the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of State to explore and celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange.
