YouthCAN!, a non-profit prevention organization in Springdale is looking for a very special person to be the Creative Director at our Art Explosions Community Imagination Studio. The Creative Director is part of the administration team and works directly under the Executive Director handling most of the creative activities and programming at the studio.
This position will begin in sometime in May, 2007. We are looking for someone with varied knowledge in multiple art mediums, teaching experience helpful. Applicant must have basic computer skills, good interpersonal skills, and be willing and able to work closely with the public.

Creative Director Job Description
Teaching Duties
1. Teach home school art classes for ages 4-18
2. Teach Mommy & Me art classes for ages 2-5
3. Teach other art classes as required
4. Teach transformational art classes for at-risk youth ages 10-18
5. Teach/facilitate art themed birthday parties for all ages
6. Facilitate/teach art at Family Nights
7. Teach individualized art instruction as required
8. Record process indicators for each class (number served, lesson taught, fee paid, etc.)
9. Curriculum development appropriate for all classes
10. Create bulletin boards as needed
11. Prep for all classes, birthday parties, special events
12. Create lesson plans for all classes
Administrative Duties
13. Co-administrate (an/or teach) Spring Break art camp for ages 10-18
14. Co-Administrate (and/or teach) Summer Art Explosion art camp for ages 10-18
15. Assist with training and oversight of team leaders, staff artists, workstudy
16. Hire and train work study students
17. Assist with development of monthly class calendars, website maintenance, print materials
18. Assist with prevention projects, collaborations, community involvement
19. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers
20. Inventory art supplies and generate purchase lists
21. Purchase art supplies when needed
22. Update database with new names and phone numbers of all clients
23. Track income sources and manage monies as required
24. Assist with mailings as needed
25. Market programs and activities to community as needed
26. Recruit artists for classes, design new classes and implement
27. Recruit artists for shows
28. Assist with planning of special events as needed
29. Plan and publicize art shows, classes, and all special events
30. Recruit local press for earned media coverage of activities
General Duties
31. Assist with cleaning of studio as needed
32. Stock cleaning supplies, assure cleanliness of facilities, sweep, empty trash, vacuum, sanitize, as needed
33. Present creative activities report to Board of Directors bi-monthly
34. Work 30 hours per week, including some evenings and some Saturdays
35. Report directly to the Executive Director
