Jon Lee will have five paintings in this upcoming exhibition at Brooks Museum in Memphis, TN
Perspectives: A juried exhibition of regional contemporary art, June 22-September 9, 2007
Perspectives is a juried exhibition of regional contemporary art open to artists within a 300-mile radius from Memphis. Artists will be invited to submit work in a variety of media ranging from painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and video, to site-specific installation. The exhibition will be juried by Michael Rooks, who has worked closely with established as well as young and emerging artists both in his current position as Associate Curator at The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu, Hawaii, and formerly as a curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Mr. Rooks was selected to bring a fresh perspective to framing and conceptualizing the art of the region.
Jon Lee selected for New American Paintings Southern Edition (release date June 1, 2007). New American Paintings is “juried exhibition in print.” The juror for the Southern Edition 2007 was Charlotta Kotik, Charman of the Department of Painting and Sculpture; Curator of Contemporary Art, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn, NY.
