DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES HOST A PROGRESSIVE SHOPPING PARTY

Special Party Becoming Annual Event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark – November 28, 2006 – Five businesses in Downtown Fayetteville will host the second annual Progressive Shopping Party on Thursday, December 7, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Arsaga’s Block Street Bakery, Dragon’s Lair, DSV Boutique, Heartwood Gallery, and Nightbird Books are hosting the event.

The Progressive Shopping Party allows shoppers to park at any of the five locations and take a private limousine to the hosting businesses where refreshments will be served. The limousine will be available at each location about every 45 minutes.

Dragon’s Lair, DSV Boutique, and Heartwood Gallery held the first event, last year. Due to the event’s success, the businesses decided to host the party again this year and recruited a couple of new businesses as well.

The Dragon’s Lair is located at 234 S. School Avenue, south of the Fayetteville Public Library. Johnson sells a variety of handmade glass items, including blown, stained, and fused glass, as well as glass bead jewelry.

DSV Boutique (106 N. Block) and Arsaga’s Block Street Bakery (116 N. Block) are located next to each other on North Block Avenue. DSV Boutique offers a large selection of women’s fashion as well as an enormous room of beads and jewelry supplies. Arsaga’s Block Street Bakery offers an assortment baked goods and locally roasted coffee varieties.

Heartwood Gallery (428 S. Government Avenue) and Nightbird Books (557 S. School Avenue) are both located on the south end of Downtown Fayetteville, in the Mill District. Heartwood Gallery is an artist cooperative, representing local artists working in a variety of media. Nightbird Books is Fayetteville’s newest independent bookstore, offering a large selection of popular and hard-to-find books.
