The Collegiate Percussive Arts Society would like to invite you to two upcoming events:
The Arkansas Day of Percussion will be Saturday, April 8th, featuring Jazz Drumset artist Tom Morgan and Steel Drum expert Darren Dyke, as well asconcerts from the University of Arkansas Percussion Ensemble, the University of Central Arkansas Percussion Ensemble, and local high school performing groups. Registration will begin at 8 am and events will begin at 9. All events are free and there will be numerous door prizes given.
Also, Monday night at 7:30pm Marimba Composer and Virtuoso Mark Ford will be performing a recital at the Walton Arts Center Starr Theater. Mr. Ford is head of the percussion faculty at the University of North Texas and has performed around the US and at International Music Festivals in South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. His compositions have been performed at universities and concert halls around the world as well as featured on National Public Radio.
