In January 2007, Fayetteville will be hosting Cineposium, a two-day gathering of aspiring and professional filmmakers, film actors, screenwriters and producers from around the country.

Sponsored by the Film Office of the Arkansas Department of Economic Development, a variety of events will be held January 27th – 29th at the Radisson Hotel and the Fayetteville Town Center.

This event, which draws hundreds of film folks, is usually held in Hot Springs, AR. The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau worked with the Arkansas Film Office to bring the event to Northwest Arkansas.

“I’m continually impressed with the talent and creativity Arkansans offer the film industry,” said Joe Glass, leader of the Arkansas Film Office. “This event is an excellent way to learn details of the film industry, both in front of and behind the camera. It also provides a great opportunity to network with others interested in film.
We are proud of recent success for Arkansans such as Joey Lauren Adams’ film “Come Early Morning” premiering on opening night at the Sundance Film Festival. We hope this event will inspire many more of these success stories.”

Contact Joe Glass at jglass@1800arkansas.com for more information on the event.

Fayetteville Downtown Partners and friends will be producing a small film festival following Cineposium.
