We need to keep keeping in mind "approachable arts" - those events that attract a light user of the arts - in order to grow the festival and grow the arts success in the area. We should conduct survey of those in driving distance of awareness vs. conversion to attend 1 or more events. There also should be a core/anchor to the event which can retain people for longer periods of time vs. attend one event on the program and leave - time to linger and appreciate the event and the artists. Kids arts and novice artist areas are important to invite those people who are not accustomed too. The festival needs a celebration of the arts positioning vs. a review of the arts format in some capacity. I love where it's headed though.
