• The next Downtown Improvement District Steering Committee meeting will be held September 15th at 6:00 p.m. at the Inn at Carnall Hall. Steve Gibson of Urban Place Consulting (urbanplaceconsulting.com) will be facilitating the meeting to discuss the potential services provided by an improvement district. Please bring your ideas.

Remember, the key to successful BID creation is that the property owners are involved in the entire implementation and decision-making process. The main benefit of a BID is to allow property owners to proactively lead a district instead of reacting to decisions that the public sector makes on behalf of property owners. Urban Place Consulting Group and Fayetteville Downtown Partners believe the process works best only if the property owners lead it. Therefore, it is very important that property owners within the proposed CORE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT attend this meeting. If you do not know if you are included in this proposed CORE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, please contact Doug Walsh at 479-571-3337.

As you may know, a BID is a financing tool that works to offer services that supplement those offered by the City. Early surveys of downtown Fayetteville stakeholders indicate that priorities for downtown Fayetteville include; streetscape improvements, security, residential and commercial parking options, economic development tools, business recruitment and retention, festival support, historic preservation and cultural arts development. This is a short list of what is possible utilizing the BID as a tool to support the goals and vision of the Downtown Master Plan.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Please contact Doug Walsh at 479-571-337 with any questions or concerns regarding the Improvement District. Go to our website, www.downtowndickson.com, to check out the latest Improvement District news, notes and information.
